Meet Our Staff

Born and raised in Hanover County, I’ve built a career rooted in a deep interest in and knowledge of all types of automobiles. Since entering the automotive industry in 2017 as a salesperson with Whitten Brothers of Ashland, I has moved through many positions within the organization. I’m now the General Sales Manager of the Whitten Brothers CDJR of Richmond sales department. My lifelong enthusiasm for cars has driven me to not only sell them but also build, customize, and race many vehicles over the years. It’s a hands-on passion that continues to fuel my work.

Now residing in King William, I balance my professional life with a strong commitment to family and community. When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending quality time with friends and loved ones, tinkering with all things mechanical, and traveling with my wife, Sam.

I started my journey with Whitten Brothers Automotive in 2013 in the detail department and quickly discovered a strong interest in the automotive world. Since then, I’ve worked my way up through car sales and automotive financing. Now I help lead the team as the Mazda Sales Manager at our Mazda dealership in Richmond. Over the years, I’ve built a reputation for developing lasting customer relationships by focusing on transparency, consistency, and making the car buying experience smooth and enjoyable.

As a lifelong Chesterfield County resident and a 2012 graduate of Manchester High School, I’m proud to serve the same community I grew up in. The high school is right in my backyard now, and I still enjoy going to a few games each year. Being part of a company that actively supports the local area makes the work that much more meaningful.

Outside of the dealership, I enjoy spending time with my dog, Moose, restoring vintage motorcycles, and exploring Virginia’s scenic backroads on two wheels.

I’m a Sales Manager at Whitten Brothers Mazda. I’ve had the privilege of growing my career here. I started as a receptionist and worked my way up to Internet Sales Advocate before taking on the role of Sales Manager. My goal is always the same. It’s to help customers find the perfect car that fits both their needs and budget while making the experience as smooth and enjoyable as possible.

I graduated from Thomas Dale High School in 2010 and still live in the area, so it’s been amazing to serve the community that I’m proud to call home. Building long-lasting relationships with my customers is something I truly value, and I love seeing both familiar and new faces come through the dealership to drive away in their new Mazdas.

When I’m not at work, you’ll probably find me riding the motorcycle with my significant other, spending time with my two dogs, Oshie and Lady, or planning my next vacation getaway. I’m also a big fan of the Cincinnati Bengals (Who Dey!), and I love spending time with my family and friends, making memories that will last a lifetime.

I take a lot of pride in what I do, and there’s nothing more rewarding than seeing the joy on a customer’s face when they drive off in a car that’s just right for them.

I joined Whitten Brothers in early 2024 as a Sales Advocate, and I’ve loved every second of growing and learning in this fast-paced, exciting field. I moved to Virginia from Texas and quickly discovered that “family” isn’t just about where you’re from. The Whitten family has been there for me both professionally and personally since day one.

Outside of work, you can usually find me out on the golf course — Providence Golf Course in Midlothian is one of my favorite spots for a fun and affordable round. At home, I spend time with my two very loving cats, Poppy and Peri, who I adopted from the local Virginia SPCA — a wonderful place to find your next furry friend.

When it comes to food, I’m always on the hunt for a good burger or hot dog, and luckily, there’s no shortage of great spots around here. If you’re ever visiting the dealership, feel free to ask me for a local recommendation!

Hello, I’m Alex. I recently joined the Whitten Brothers Mazda team as a Sales Consultant and am excited to begin my journey in automotive sales. I’m eager to learn, grow, and help customers find the Mazda that best fits their lifestyle. I look forward to meeting new people every day and making their car buying experience fun, easy, and memorable.

Outside of work, I love spending time gaming, reading, and staying active through pickleball here in Richmond, Virginia. I’ve competed in a few local tournaments and play regularly at Pouncey Tract Park in Short Pump. I’m also a big roller coaster enthusiast and have visited more than 13 theme parks across the United States.

I’m a Sales Consultant at Mazda, a role I’ve held since June of 2025. What I enjoy most about my work a Whitten Brothers Automotive is seeing my customers leave with a smile. It lets me know I did my job right and that they genuinely enjoyed the process. Before this, I worked at a different dealership. Since joining Mazda, I’ve really appreciated the chance to build stronger customer relationships and deliver a more enjoyable buying experience.

In addition to spending quality time with my family and friends, I enjoy drawing and reading. Lately, I’ve been really into autobiographies — they’ve been surprisingly interesting and insightful!

I appreciate being part of our local community and previously volunteered with SCAN (Stop Child Abuse Now). No matter what a child was going through at the time, it was always meaningful — and fun — to bring a smile to their face whenever I had the chance.

My name is Jim Hooker, and I’ve been with Whitten Mazda for nearly 3 years. I enjoy working with customers to help find the perfect vehicle for them. It brings me joy to see that excited smile on a first-time buyer’s face or the thrill they experience as they stomp the gas in one of the Mazda turbo-powered vehicles.

I appreciate the family-owned environment that helps differentiate us from other dealerships, as well as a low-pressure, more personal overall customer experience.

When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me on the trails at Pocahontas Park pushing my limits on a “white knuckle” mountain bike ride. My dog, Bindi, is also a fan of the awesome walking trails there, and we frequent them on morning walks.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me! I have had the privilege of working with Whitten Brothers for the past 4 years. My journey began in 2021, starting in the clean-up department, and through dedication and a passion for growth, I’ve progressed into the role of Finance Manager.

My path to Whitten Brothers was a bit serendipitous. A close friend who was already working in the clean-up department introduced me to the company. Having always been passionate about vehicles, this was the perfect fit for me.

A lifelong resident of Midlothian, I graduated from James River High School in 2017. When I’m not helping customers navigate auto financing for their vehicle purchases, you’ll likely find me pursuing some of my favorite hobbies. I’m an avid rock climber and golfer, and I enjoy working on my own vehicles. I also love unwinding with a good movie, spending quality time with my two calico cats, Mama and Stinky, and indulging in my favorite video games, including World of Warcraft, Escape from Tarkov, and Dead by Daylight.
