Mazda6 Not Coming to America?

MAZDA6, available now at Whitten Brothers Mazda in Richmond, VA has always been a well-selling model. But due to recent additions to the lineup, and less than stellar sales of the 6 in recent months, the car is in danger of being discontinued in the United States. MAZDA6 accounts for the majority of Mazda's US production, built alongside Ford cars at a shared Flat Rock, MI plant.   AutoWeek's Hans Greiml reports that the Nikkan Kogyo newspaper believes Mazda could be looking to pull out from Flat Rock.

Mazda Reaches All Time Sales Record

Mazda Motors has reached an all time sales record, not just within the United States but around the globe. Sales in North America remained steady throughout 2010. In the land down under, Australia, Mazda has seen its largest growth ever - capping off another strong year with an all-time sales record, selling 84,777 new cars and light commercial trucks in 2010. That is an increase of 4,951 over their previous best in 2008.

Mazda remains Australia's top-selling import brand for a sixth consecutive year. They officially secured a year-end market share of 8.2%
