Production Mazda6 Will Take the Stage at 2012 Paris Auto Show

This past fall, automotive enthusiasts feasted their eyes on the future of Mazda, embodied in the Takeri Concept. Featuring the automaker's new design language, KODO - Soul of Motion, the Takeri wears a stunning exterior and even gives off a hint of premium-market aura. While the concept alone proved to be quite the attention-grabber, its true value rests in signaling what's ahead for the highly-anticipated, upcoming Mazda6.

Though getting pre-release peeks at upcoming models through current concepts is all well and good, Whitten Brothers Mazda is pleased to announce that the production model Mazda6 is nearly complete. What's more, company officials have stated that this market-ready new Mazda will make its official debut early this fall at the 2012 Paris International Auto Show.

Already dubbed a "handsome executive/family vehicle,"1 the forthcoming Mazda6 will host an array of advanced technologies and offer consumers a bit of upscale flair. More specifically, the revamped four-door sedan will make prime use of the automaker's next-generation SkyActiv technology. While we can't say for sure how this will translate, the Takeri Concept off of which it's based, contains a brand-new SkyActiv diesel engine capable of reaching 165-hp and over 300-lb./ft. of torque. In addition, the 2013 Mazda6 is slated to contain the automaker's latest regenerative braking system including stop-start technology.
