At a recent Grand-Am race at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Alabama, three teams waving the MAZDASPEED Motorsports Development banner put the pedal to the metal to raise funds for the American Red Cross Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami Relief Fund. Each of the three teams - SpeedSource, Dempsey Racing and Team Sahlen - featured special graphics on their RX-8 racecars, inviting fans to support people affected by the March 11 earthquake and tsunami by texting a $10 donation to REDCROSS at 90999.

Mazda Suspends US Orders Following Earthquake

You might have to wait if you want to test drive the latest MAZDA3 or MAZDA MX-5 at Whitten Brothers Mazda in Richmond, VA. The Japanese auto maker will pause all exports to the US, due to circumstances following the massive earthquake which recently struck the country.

 

MAZDA6 and MAZDA Tribute are excluded from the list since both are built in the US, said Jeremy Barnes, Mazda North American Operations spokesman.

 

Japanese automakers continue to be shaken up by disruptions following the March 11 earthquake, tsunami and nuclear reactor shutdowns.
